CM Revanth Reddy Surprises Journalists with Major Announcement

Revanth Reddy’s Bold Move: Promises Housing Land for Journalists if Re-elected as CM

CM Revanth Reddy’s Announcement Disappoints Journalists Awaiting Housing Plots

Hyderabad, November 11: Journalists in Telangana, who were anticipating housing plots, received unexpected news from CM Revanth Reddy. During an event at the Transport Department office in Khairatabad, the Chief Minister addressed expectations around the allocation of housing plots for journalists, indicating that this would only happen in his second term if re-elected.

Revanth Reddy reminded attendees that in his previous tenure, he distributed the first round of housing plot titles to journalists. He explained that the distribution of a second batch would be delayed until after his potential re-election. The CM noted that while journalists from the unified state had long fought for housing plots, these efforts had only recently started seeing success under his leadership. For journalists hoping to secure housing in Future City, this announcement suggests a longer wait.

Focus on Jobs and Appointments

The CM also highlighted achievements in employment, stating that his government has filled 50,000 job vacancies and resolved legal hurdles to facilitate new appointments across levels, including Group-1. He credited the Telangana movement for job opportunities and acknowledged Congress’s role in supporting these efforts. CM Revanth Reddy criticized the previous administration for neglecting the needs of the unemployed, who were instrumental in the push for Telangana’s statehood.

Congress’s Record on Appointments Criticized by BRS Leader Harish Rao

BRS leader and former minister Harish Rao criticized the Congress government’s job appointment processes, accusing it of “claiming credit” for positions previously announced by the BRS. Harish Rao pointed out that the AMVI job notification was initially issued by the KCR government in December 2022, with exams held in June 2023. However, he noted, appointment letters were distributed only recently by CM Revanth Reddy, and he commented that “this, too, should be accounted to Congress.”
