Bhadrachalam ITDA Brings Education to Tribal Children’s Doorsteps in Remote Village

Kothagudem: In a significant step towards inclusive education, the Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA) of Bhadrachalam has opened a new school to bring education closer to tribal children in the remote village of Narayanaraopeta, located in Dummugudem mandal. Previously, the village’s 30 tribal children—boys and girls alike—were unable to attend school due to the lack of nearby educational facilities.

Residents raised their concerns with ITDA Project Officer B. Rahul, explaining that sending their children to distant tribal welfare primary schools was challenging due to transportation issues. Understanding the urgency and importance of their request, Project Officer Rahul sanctioned a fund of ₹4.5 lakh to construct a new school in the village, with a sturdy iron-sheet roof, ensuring the community’s children would have a dedicated space for learning. The school is now operational and serves as a beacon of opportunity for the young residents.

In addition to building the school, ITDA has provided essential learning materials, such as books, pencils, and other educational supplies, to equip the students from the outset. Rahul emphasized that the ITDA, in coordination with the tribal welfare department, is committed to laying a strong educational foundation for these children, enabling them to progress academically.

Rahul also encouraged parents to foster a sense of pride in the Koya language and cultural heritage among their children. He advised that speaking Koya at home and sharing traditional customs would help the children remain connected to their roots. By supporting the children’s studies and cultural understanding, the community can aspire to see them succeed and achieve higher levels of education.
