Tragic Accident Claims Two Lives as Family Returns from Wedding in Jagtial, Telangana
In a tragic early morning accident on Sunday, two lives were lost and two others were seriously injured when a car carrying a family returning from a wedding collided with an RTC bus near the Dharur canal on the outskirts of Jagtial. The car, which was reportedly overspeeding, struck the oncoming bus and subsequently hit a roadside tree.
The victims, who had just celebrated a family wedding in Jangaon, included the bride’s brother, Sankeerth, who was driving, and her friend, Raji. Both individuals died instantly due to the impact. The bride’s parents, Rajammalu and Laxmi, suffered severe injuries and were rushed to Jagtial Government Hospital. Due to her critical condition, Laxmi was later transferred to a hospital in Karimnagar.
According to locals, the victims were residents of Hanumanwada, Mission Compound in Jagtial town. The accident occurred while they were en route home after attending the marriage reception the previous night. The RTC bus, operated by the Jagtial depot, was bound for Hyderabad when the collision occurred.
This tragic incident serves as a sobering reminder of the dangers of overspeeding, especially on rural roads where visibility and road conditions can vary greatly. Authorities urge drivers to exercise caution to prevent further such incidents.
