Vikarabad (Telangana): BRS Working President and MLA, Kalvakuntla Taraka Rama Rao KTR , has been named in the police remand report regarding the violent attack on Vikarabad district collector and other revenue officials in Lagcherla village, Dudyal Mandal.
This follows the arrest of BRS MLA patnam narendar reddy on Wednesday morning in connection with the assault on the Vikarabad district collector. Police have stated that Reddy confessed to being involved in a criminal conspiracy aimed at destabilizing the Congress government and advancing his own political agenda.
The remand report on the Vikarabad collector attack incident, which occurred on November 11, states that Patnam Narender Reddy confessed to committing the offense as part of a criminal conspiracy. The report further mentions that he carried out the attack under the instructions of BRS leader K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) and other prominent figures.
According to the remand report, “Based on the confession of the accused and new revelations, Patnam Narender Reddy was arrested on November 13, 2024, at 07:02 AM.”
During a tactful interrogation, Patnam Narender Reddy confessed to committing the offense as part of a criminal conspiracy. He admitted to aiding the other accused in an attempt to destabilize or deteriorate the government, with the goal of gaining political advantage and defaming the Telangana government. This was reportedly done under the directions of the prominent leader of their party, K.T. Rama Rao (KTR), along with other key figures.
In response to the attack on the collector in Vikarabad, Telangana Minister Ponnam Prabhakar strongly condemned the incident. He stated, “If people disagree with the government’s decisions, they should protect the officers and take strict actions, rather than resorting to violence.”
The incident took place after a group of villagers and farmers in Lagcherla village, Dudyal Mandal, Vikarabad district, hurled stones and damaged the vehicles of the District Collector.
According to police, stones were pelted on the Vikarabad Collector’s vehicle by the villagers giving slogans ‘Go back’. Another RDO rank officer from Kodangal was also beaten up by the villagers.
