Madhavi Latha Complaints Against Prabhakar Reddy

Tollywood actress and BJP leader Madhavi Latha recently filed a formal complaint against TDP leader JC Prabhakar Reddy, the Chairman of Tadipatri Municipal Corporation, alleging that he made derogatory comments about her, which caused significant emotional distress. The actress lodged her complaint with the Cyberabad Police at the Police Commissioner’s Office in Gachibowli, Hyderabad, on Tuesday, January 20, 2025.

The controversy began when Prabhakar Reddy organized a special event for women at JC Park in Tadipatri on New Year’s Eve, December 31, 2024. The event, aimed at promoting women’s empowerment, attracted a large number of attendees. However, ahead of the event, Madhavi Latha took to social media to post a video warning women against attending, citing concerns about anti-social activities taking place in the area. Her remarks sparked a strong reaction from Reddy, who responded by making derogatory comments about the actress.

Although Reddy later issued a public apology for his statements, Madhavi Latha felt that the comments not only affected her personally but also caused fear and distress among her family members. Speaking to the media, she questioned whether it was acceptable for public figures to make offensive remarks and later apologize, highlighting the emotional toll such comments can have on individuals.

Prior to filing the police complaint, the actress had also approached the Movie Artists Association (MAA) seeking action against Reddy. The incident has drawn significant attention, especially considering the broader issue of harassment and the treatment of women in the public sphere. Madhavi Latha’s move to file a complaint underscores the need for accountability in addressing derogatory remarks and safeguarding the dignity of women in both the political and entertainment industries.
