Modi Discusses Ways to Strengthen BJP
Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a two-hour meeting with BJP legislators, MPs, and party functionaries at the BJP State office on Friday evening. The goal was to strengthen the partyโs presence in Odisha and discuss governance and development.
Senior leaders like Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Union Ministers Dharmendra Pradhan, Jual Oram, Ashwini Vaishnaw, BJP State President Manmohan Samal, and other functionaries attended the meeting. It was followed by dinner at the BJP State headquarters.
The meeting focused on governance and strengthening BJPโs grassroots presence. Modi reviewed the state government’s performance, including development projects and welfare initiatives. He praised the government for fulfilling election promises.
Modi urged public representatives to ensure government schemes reach all sections of society. Sources say the discussion included strategies to expand BJPโs presence in Odisha through membership drives and proactive engagement by party leaders.
Manmohan Samal clarified that the meeting was more like a family gathering. There was no discussion on state government matters, but rather on strengthening the party.
BJP MP Rudra Narayan Pany shared that Modi listened patiently to party leaders’ concerns. “It was a valuable opportunity for Odisha BJP leaders,” he said.
Despite forming the government in Odisha, BJPโs vote share was lower than the Opposition BJD. The Prime Minister focused on strategies to boost the partyโs strength across the state, especially by reaching more voters in key constituencies.
