Hyderabad: In a significant development, the Hyderabad Police arrested Sridhar Rao, the Managing Director of Sandhya Convention, at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA). The arrest was made based on a non-bailable warrant issued by a Delhi court in connection with a major cheating case involving the defrauding of a Delhi-based businessman of several crores of rupees. Acting on a lookout circular issued by the Delhi Police, Hyderabad authorities intercepted and apprehended Rao just before he could board an international flight. Following standard procedure, he was produced before the Rajendranagar court, which granted the Delhi Police a transit remand to take him to Delhi for further investigation.
According to the police, the case pertains to a financial fraud where Sridhar Rao allegedly deceived the complainant, a businessman from Delhi with connections to Bollywood, through fraudulent business transactions. The businessman filed a complaint accusing Rao of collecting a substantial investment on false promises of high returns and subsequently failing to deliver. The Delhi Police, with assistance from the Cyberabad Police, tracked Rao’s movements and executed the arrest operation smoothly, avoiding any public commotion at the airport.
