BJP Demands Governorβs Intervention Following Attack
Hyderabad: Attack on BJP office by Youth Congress activists on Tuesday has escalated political tensions in Telangana. Union Coal Minister and BJP State president G Kishan Reddy has urged Governor Jishnu Dev Varma to seek an immediate report from the Telangana government on the incident.
In a letter to the Governor, Reddy claimed the attack created a serious law and order problem in Hyderabad, alleging police inaction during the episode. He further suggested that the police and the attackers may have acted with mutual understanding, calling the situation premeditated. Several BJP leaders were reportedly injured during the attack, leading to an atmosphere of fear and instability.
Reddy requested the Governor to intervene and direct the State government to ensure law and order is maintained across Telangana.
Bhatti Vikramarka Condemns Attacks on Both BJP and Congress Offices
In a sharp response to the unrest, Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka condemned the attack on the BJP office while also criticizing the BJP for alleged aggression against Congress offices, including Gandhi Bhavan.
Speaking to the media in Khammam district on Tuesday, Vikramarka stated that political violence by either party is unacceptable. He clarified that neither the Chief Minister nor Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President Mahesh Kumar Goud had prior knowledge of the Youth Congress activistsβ actions.
βThe BJP central leadership has not acted against its own leaders, such as Ramesh Bidhuri, for derogatory remarks against Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi. Instead of addressing such misconduct, they incite further tensions,β Vikramarka remarked. He emphasized that maintaining peace and political decorum should be the priority.
