Banyan Nation to Invest ₹200 Cr for Expansion, Creating 500 Jobs
Banyan Nation, a prominent plastic waste recycling start-up, is set to invest ₹200 crore for expansion. This investment will allow the company to establish new facilities in Telangana, significantly increasing its production capacity and creating 500 additional jobs.
Currently, the company operates a recycling facility in Pashamylaram Industrial Area, near Hyderabad, with an annual capacity of 15,000 tonnes. However, with the planned expansion, it intends to boost this capacity to 45,000 tonnes. Consequently, this move will play a key role in reducing plastic waste and contributing to the circular economy.
On Thursday, Banyan Nation’s leadership team, including CEO Mani Vajipey and COO Raj Kiran Madanagopal, met with Minister D. Sridhar Babu at the Secretariat. During the meeting, the Minister expressed appreciation for the company’s efforts toward sustainability. He assured the team that the Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TGIIC) would review the request for additional land to accommodate the new facilities.
Moreover, the expansion aligns with Telangana’s vision of supporting innovative enterprises that promote sustainability. The government views such initiatives as vital to both economic growth and environmental preservation. Banyan Nation’s strong customer base, including major corporations like Unilever and Tata Motors, further demonstrates the company’s growing impact.
In conclusion, Banyan Nation’s ₹200 crore expansion project will play a crucial role in advancing the state’s sustainability efforts. Additionally, it will provide significant employment opportunities while contributing to the company’s growing presence in the global recycling market.
