Telangana High Court Takes Action on Food Poisoning in Schools

Telangana High Court Takes Serious Note of Food Poisoning in Schools

The Telangana High Court has taken strict notice of food poisoning incidents in government schools, which have caused numerous students to fall ill. The court has ordered a detailed investigation and lab analysis of mid-day meal samples from all such schools.

Government Negligence Under Scrutiny

During the hearing of a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) about food poisoning in a Narayanpet district school, the court criticized the authorities for negligence. It questioned whether action would be taken only after fatalities and urged the officials to adopt humane measures.

Recent Incidents of Food Poisoning in Telangana Schools

  • Maganoor Zilla Parishad High School:
    • November 20: Over 50 students fell ill after consuming the mid-day meal.
    • November 26: Another 21 students experienced vomiting and diarrhea after meals.
