UP Woman Abandons Family to Run Away with Beggar
In a surprising turn of events, a 36-year-old woman from Hardoi district, Uttar Pradesh, has allegedly left her husband and six children to elope with a local beggar named Nanhe Pandit. The woman, Rajeshwari, has sparked a police investigation after her husband, Raju, 45, filed a complaint under Section 87 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which pertains to the abduction of women.
According to Raju, Nanhe Pandit frequented their neighborhood to beg and often engaged in conversations with Rajeshwari. The couple’s interactions reportedly included phone calls, raising Raju’s suspicions about their relationship. On January 3, around 2 PM, Rajeshwari informed their daughter, Khushboo, that she was going to the market for clothes and vegetables. When she did not return home, Raju began searching for her.
Raju revealed that Rajeshwari took with her a significant amount of money he had earned from selling a buffalo, heightening his concern that Nanhe Pandit was involved in her disappearance. In his complaint, Raju expressed his fears that his wife was led away by the beggar, prompting him to seek police intervention.
Law enforcement officials have confirmed that they are actively searching for Nanhe Pandit following Raju’s FIR. They recognize the seriousness of the allegations, as outlined in Section 87 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. This law addresses the kidnapping or abduction of women, particularly with the intent to force them into marriage or illicit relationships against their will. Offenders could face imprisonment for up to ten years and may also incur fines.

This incident shines a light on the complex societal issues surrounding family dynamics, economic challenges, and the vulnerabilities women may face in such situations. As the investigation continues, the local community remains shocked by the sudden disappearance of Rajeshwari, prompting discussions about the underlying factors that may have contributed to her decision.
Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding Rajeshwari or Nanhe Pandit to come forward to assist in the ongoing investigation.
